JAMIE LYNN SPEARS
Making the leap from an ensemble member of the Nickelodeon hit sketch comedy series All That to starring in her own sitcom, 14 year-old Jamie relishes the opportunity to follow in some famous footsteps."It's a dream come true," says Spears. "I grew up watching Nickelodeon with my friends back home in Louisiana and fantasized about someday joining the cast of All That. One of my idols, Amanda Bynes, started her career on that show and then got her own Nickelodeon series. The fact that I did too is the coolest thing in the world." Winner of Hollywood Life "One To Watch" Award, Jamie Lynn Spears was also nominated for a Teen Choice Award, in the category of "Breakout Female Performer," for her role on Zoey 101. Zoey 101 entered its second season September and is up for an Emmy in the category of "Best Children's Program". On of the newer members of the All That cast, Spears sealed her spot on the sketch comedy series in 2001 after impressing executive producer Dan Schneider with her characterization of an 84-year-old female bodyguard, inspired by her own grandmother. Spears also appeared on the small screen with her older sister Britney in a Pepsi commercial and in concert, Britney Spears: Live from Las Vegas. Her feature credits include a role in the MTV Films/Paramount Pictures movie Crossroads. The 9th grader, who attends high school at Parklane Academy in Mississippi where she?s on the cheering squad and basketball team, attests to having a strong affinity for her TV alter ego. "I love that we?re so similar," she affirms. "Zoey is a leader who speaks her mind, and she's determined to succeed at her new school. She's also friendly, outgoing andathletic, especially in basketball and so am I."
